something

I posted two new graphics for my site. They are two simple images, one is a treble clef and the other is a bass clef. Both were made using PSP9. It took a lot of time to get these to look decent and I'll probably recreate them at some point because I'm really not too thrilled. But they work and that's all that matters at this point. I really ought to be spending my time doing my bio on the site; however, I ended up getting a little distracted by the layout on the page. I originally just had the title "MUSIC" but it looked really lonely out there so that's how this all started.

Search Engines: they suck. I've submitted the URL of my site to all of the major search engines and none of them list my site within the results when I query either the URL or any of the keywords. I'm hoping that time and traffic will help produce better search results soon. On the other hand, I'm not even finished with the site and there's not too much in terms of content, so for now, getting visits via the engines doesn't even matter. I'd just like it if shit worked.

I'll be starting the Fall semester tomorrow. Therefore, it'll be a little more difficult to find the time to work on my site. Thankfully, I've only registered for two classes so things shouldn't be too bad.

So the priorities for my site haven't changed and it's now time to work on the bio and then get busy with transfering analog recordings to the computer to post MP3's. After that, I'll get into the "writing" page and post some of drivel I've accumulated over the years.

busy

Just when I thought I'd be getting things together more quickly, life has to jump up and steal all my time. The bottom line is that I haven't had any time to work on my site or any of the content. I have been messing around with some additional graphics for my site, but I'm having a hell of a time getting things the way I want them. I'm certainly not a professional graphic designer so I guess it's understandable how much difficulty I have, especially when it comes to erasing backgrounds and such. It's weird how images look two-tone on a web page, but then when I magnify the image in PSP9, I do a color count and get sometimes hundreds of colors embedded within a graphic. And here I only try to get them to be two-toned, but the two colors I desire instead of what I find. I'm seriously considering creating the graphics from scratch to avoid the aggravation of manipulating pre-existing images. It's a good thing I have a regular 9-5 job because I'd never get paid at this rate. Even though this stuff is challenging for me I really enjoy it and sometimes I'd rather just isolate and work as opposed to running off to socialize, etc.

ok

This is the blog to accompany my new site. The purpose of the site is to document and share the creative projects I've completed. The site is brand new and only contains design elements so far. Both the site and this blog will be upgraded and updated regularly. So please be patient as design and content develop, but feel free to check things out often. Even the most basic web activities take a lot of work, especially when you consider the planning part (at least in my opinion). I've been dually blessed and cursed with perfectionism so I have a tendency to get a little caught up in my own head, become indecisive, etc at times. Now that I have a little momentum going and something tangible to work with, I believe this whole undertaking (not the bodies) will come to fruition more rapidly.

I have now completed the "home page" and "music" pages of my site, including the link for this blog on both. At this point, I think it's wise to build my "profile/info" page which would enable this blog to be an extension of that. I've decided to have content of facts and true artistic substance on infinitegravity.net and leave my thoughts and speculations to this blog. Finally, I've decided that nearly every site on the net, both good and bad, seems to have a considerable amount of advertising these days. That's fine for those folks and that's their choice. I've made the decision that my site will remain free of advertising because:1) I am willing to fund my own site, regardless of scale and 2) it detracts from the content and 3) it causes a less satisfying visitor experience. The only possible selling may be my own work someday, but we'll worry about that later and that's not the core objective of infinitegravity, as stated in the above paragraph.

On a final note, I always welcome feedback of any kind so please feel free to comment on blog posts or send me an email and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I'm so stoked.
