discountenance

Hey, I finally got a new track posted over the weekend. It's titled "Discountenance" and I have no idea why - it just seemed like a good word. This is one of the recordings I was able to salvage from my old jam tapes. As with the other track, Journey to Kill, the quality is lacking a bit, but it's tangible material and I believe it still conveys a feeling overall. Be sure to crank the volume because it seems low to me. I plan on editing the file a little more and then re-posting it eventually.

I remember having to do a million takes for both the bass and guitar for this one. For whatever reason, I wasn't very fluid the day I went to record it. On the other hand, I think the end product was worth the frustration. Recording is always a pain in the ass.

After going through many tapes, most of them contain single instrument jams, as I mentioned in a previous post. Therefore, I'm going to create a new section on my music page for these and call them "Ideas" because I really like some of the stuff. So I'll post some of those next and then I'll post the recent material I've wrote. The quality of the new tracks should be much better going forward and keep in mind that all of this is a learning experience for me.
