persistence

It appears that my pit-bull persistence has paid off a little. I
posted an ad in the online Dave Phillips Music & Sound musicians'
classifieds
and a guy named Mike responded a few days ago. As a
result, tomorrow night we're getting together to jam. He lives in
Sergeantsville and seems like a cool guitarist. I'll be playing bass,
my primary instrument of destruction. We'll have his friend playing
drums who's supposed to be quite good too. We're into a lot of the
same music and he has 20 years of experience under his belt already.
These dudes want to shake the earth sonically and I'm digging it. I
stand to learn a ton and I'm really looking forward to working with
them. Mike had asked that I learn four songs prior to meeting up so we all had something to jam together and I've already done so. These are the songs: Immigrant Song, The Number of the Beast, Smokin and Basketcase. He admits that none of these are his favorites but they should be a good way to get a feel for each other's capabilities and style. I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of fun!
